Episode Series. Ted Dinan

The Portuguese Society for Microbiology is launching a series of episodes from the IMD 2018 recordings at Instituto Superior Técnico, Lisbon. Ted Dinan

Ted Dinan is Emeritus Professor of Psychiatry and a Principal Investigator in APC Microbiome Ireland at University College Cork. Ted Dinan has worked in research laboratories on both sides of the Atlantic and has a PhD in Pharmacology from the University of London. He is a Fellow of the Royal Colleges of Physicians and Psychiatrists and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. In 1995, he was awarded the Melvin Ramsey Prize for this research into the biology of stress. In 2019, he was ranked number 1 expert on microbiota, by Expertscape. His main research interest is in the role of the gut microbiota in brain function and development.  

In 2018, Ted Dinan was an invited speaker for the celebrations of the International Microorganism Day in Lisbon, at Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade de Lisboa.
