Join our IMD 2022 team
The preparations for International Microorganism Day 2022 have started and this means we need more people to join our team!
Each role involves a small commitment: attending our meetings once every two weeks, and roughly 1 to 2 hours between each meeting performing the role in your own time. We will coordinate the team remotely, over emails, video calls, and cloud documents. There will be an increased commitment during September in the run up to IMD2022 on 17th September!
We are looking for the following volunteer roles:
Website Coordinator
To maintain and update our website’s content and webpages. Experience with SquareSpace is an advantage. You will be responsible for keeping the website updated with content from the IMD team: text, images, videos, resources etc.
Blog Coordinator
To coordinate with blog writers to draft and post regular good quality articles to the blog section of our website. Good project management skills are essential and experience with SquareSpace is an advantage.
Content Creator (Graphics)
To make engaging visuals for social media and the website following the IMD brand. Previous experience with graphics or design is essential.
Social Media Assistant
To coordinate the day-to-day scheduling of posts and to engage with audiences. Experience with social media copywriting and scheduling will be an advantage.
Blog Writers
To write blog(s) to be published on our website. These need to be easy to read and break down complex microbiology concepts for a wide audience.
Local Events Organizers
Are you interested to plan your own IMD 2022 event in your country? Then get in touch and we can support you with it!
IMD Ambassadors
Main contact for organizing IMD celebrations in each local country
Engagement Volunteers (Portuguese or Dutch Speaking)
We are organizing in-person events in The Netherlands and Portugal and we need some native speakers to engage with public/attendees on the day. Microbiologists at any career stage are welcomed.
