This online conference, featuring a hybrid format, will be conducted by experts in microbiology who will delve into the fascinating diversity of microorganisms, their significance in various fields ranging from health to industry, and their role in environmental sustainability. Participants will learn about the latest advancements in microbiological research and will have the opportunity to ask questions to the speakers. 

These activities will provide an educational and enjoyable experience to celebrate International Microorganism Day while promoting interest and appreciation for the fascinating world of microbes. 

Event Objectives: 

To provide students, professionals, and the public with updated scientific information on advances in different areas of microbiology, aiming to illustrate the inherent multidisciplinary of this scientific discipline. 


Following the Footsteps of Microbes (Open doors microbiology lab day)

When: 18 September 2024

Where: University Campus UNA, San Lorenzo, CEMIT Laboratories, FACEN UNA, FCQ, IICS UNA.

Microbiology Laboratory Tour: "Following the Microbes' Footsteps". Join us on a guided tour of our institution's microbiology laboratories as well as those of collaborating institutions, where you will have the chance to closely observe scientists' daily work in identifying, cultivating, and studying different types of microorganisms. Discover how experiments and analyses are conducted to contribute to advancing knowledge in this exciting field of science. 

These activities will provide an educational and enjoyable experience to celebrate International Microorganism Day while promoting interest and appreciation for the fascinating world of microbes. 

Event Objectives: 

To achieve these objectives, the event will be organized to provide an effective platform for disseminating updated scientific knowledge, discussing trends, and advancements in the field of mycotoxins and their relationship with agriculture.  


Expressing Microscopic Life Through Art (Art competition)

When: 20 September 2024

Where: Esplanade of the Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences, FACEN UNA

 Microbiological Art Competition: "Expressing Microscopic Life through Art". Showcase your creativity and passion for microbiology by participating in our microbiological art competition. Utilize various artistic mediums such as painting, drawing, photography, or sculpture to represent the beauty and significance of microorganisms uniquely and creatively. Entries will be judged by a panel of experts in microbiology and art, and prizes will be awarded to the most original and creative works. 

These activities will provide an educational and enjoyable experience to celebrate International Microorganism Day while promoting interest and appreciation for the fascinating world of microbes. 

Event Objectives: 

Through the execution of this event, opportunities provided for professional development in microbiology and the benefits of joining scientific societies will be promoted.
